Disney Magic - Halloween on the High Seas 5-night cruise - Day 4 - At Sea

At Sea

Another day at sea! We had no plans. Well, except for the big list of things I saw on the Navigator that I wanted to do. Otherwise, no plans! :P

We slept in for a bit and then had breakfast in Lumiere's which was just okay. After breakfast we happened to see Sofia the First meeting. When we got in line they told us Sofia was leaving and that we could instead meet with Jake the Neverland Pirate. So we did that and then checked out some of our photos in Shutters before we headed down to the Atrium for a character dance party. Emmaline danced her heart out with the characters, especially dancing with Chip (of Chip and Dale) for quite a long time. She had a lot of fun. After this, we ate lunch, again in Lumiere’s (but it wasn’t as yummy as the day before) and then Emmaline went to the kid’s club for awhile.

Before the cruise, I had made Emmaline a little waist pouch to fit an iPhone in which she put an old iPhone with the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app on it. From there she could send us a text message when she wanted to be picked up, which worked much better than having to deal with the ship provided Wave phones (which are basically really old cell phones with old-school texting). So instead of notifying a youth activities counselor that she was done in the club, she just texted us and we came to get her. The app worked flawlessly for us.

We picked Emmaline up in time to go to the Walt Disney Theatre for the 4D “The Nightmare Before Christmas Sing and Scream.” We enjoyed singing along to the movie in 3D (which wasn’t overdone and was actually a nice enhancement) with additional lighting effects in the theatre (the 4D part). After that, it was time for the Jack and Sally Meet and Greet. We met with them and got pictures taken before racing up to the kids club for the preparation for “Friendship Rocks.” While she was in the theatre, Roger and I headed to the Cove Cafe and relaxed and enjoyed some coffee drinks together.

45 minutes later, we were seating in the Walt Disney Theatre again while the children were led onstage for a short dance number with Mickey and Minnie. There were a lot of kids! The kids all got a t-shirt from the experience and were led back to the club where we picked her up in time to get ready for the evening, which was optional “dress up.” We got dressed and went down to the atrium to have photos taken in our nice clothes. After that, we attended the evening’s show “Walt Disney The Dream Goes On” which was a pretty cute mini-bio of Walt Disney with live musical interludes from early favorites like Pinocchio and Mary Poppins.

After the show, we headed to Fathom’s (the nightclub) for a family comedy and magic show with Rich Purpura. It was enjoyable. Not amazing, but humorous at points and entertaining. After the show, it was time for dinner, this time at Lumiere’s which was my favorite meal of the cruise. After dinner we raced back up to the room to change Emmaline into her pajamas for “Pluto’s Pajama Party” in the kid’s club. She met her friends there and enjoyed the late night party with Pluto while Roger and I prepared to get ready for the next day’s events at Castaway Cay.
