5-night DCL Bahamas cruise + WDW: A 25th Anniversary Celebration - Day 3 Embarkation Day

Embarkation Day

We woke up early so we could get our luggage packed up and ready by the 7 AM pickup. We have found that when they say 7 AM luggage pickup, they literally mean 7 AM (and sometimes a few minutes earlier). Once the luggage was gone, we vegged in the room for a few minutes before going to the main building for breakfast and then meet up with the DCL transportation rep at 8:45 for a 9:15 departure.

We made one more stop before driving to Port Canaveral. I wish I could say that the trip was uneventful but there was a toddler screaming bloody murder the entire time. To the point at which I was actually concerned that something was wrong with the poor kid. The parents tried everything. It was awful for everyone. The poor kid finally crashed out with the ship in sight. Of course.

Check in and security was pretty chill and we didn't wait long for our boarding group to be called. We were sitting down for lunch at Cabana's at right around noon. When we finished lunch, it was too early for rooms to be ready and it was actually sort of chilly outside so we needed to find some indoor activities. We ended up going to Vibe for the open house and played some Guitar Hero. After that we began a game of Midship Detective Agency.

At 1:30 we went to find our room, put our stuff down and have a little rest before going up to the top deck to watch the rocket launch from Cape Canaveral. I had only found out about it by happenstance from another person I had been chatting with from our cruise meet group. The rocket launch was actually really cool to watch and I'm so glad that we went to see it.

At 2:30 I went to one of my favorite activities on the ship: animation class. I'm actually the only one of the three of us that likes it, but Roger came with me anyway. After that we went and got some coffee at Vista before the muster drill at 3:15. After the drill, Emmaline went to the sail away party and Roger and I went to deck four to watch the Wish sail away. We were hoping for a horn battle. Alas.

Then Roger and I went back to the room to unpack a bit and relax before going to Disney "Level 1" trivia. Emmaline asked where we were and came down to The Tube to meet us there. We noticed a lot of these Level 1 trivia on the schedule and attended some of them as well as "Advanced" and I'm going to say I couldn't really tell much difference. We stuck around for the Silent DJ Party after that, but only for a couple of songs.

The show that evening was actually the Mufasa movie which none of us were interested in seeing so instead Emmaline went off to Vibe and Roger and I went to one of the lounges to listen to a violin player that we weren't really all that into and I'm just going to leave it at that.

We made our way to the atrium for a palate cleanser and listened to Soul Duo. We've been on multiple cruises with them and they are always wonderful. They both play multiple instruments and have a vast catalogue of songs. We listened to them up until it was time for dinner, which was in Royal Court and we were happy to find that we were with our requested server, Jay. We first met Jay on the Magic nearly ten years ago and this was our fourth time to have him as our server.

After dinner, Emmaline went to Vibe and I went and learned how to draw the little green aliens from Toy Story ("ooooooooooh, the claaaaaw!") before we went to bed.
